QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

Quality improvement (QI) is an area of increasing focus and scrutiny in medicine.  The Institute of Medicine has identified six areas for improvement in the delivery of medical care: safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency, and equity (for details click here1). At University of Michigan, quality and safety measures are made publically available for a variety of medical and surgical treatments. Researchers at Kellogg are taking a leading role in using innovative methods to improve the quality of care delivered to our patients every day.
