Blindness and vision impairment affect more than one billion people worldwide. Since 75% of vision impairment is avoidable, it is important to understand how eye diseases are distributed in the population in order to reach those most at risk. Through studies in the United States and with our global partners, researchers from CEPI and the Kellogg Eye Center for International Ophthalmology are working to provide important insights on the epidemiology of eye disease with the aim of eliminating avoidable and preventable vision impairment.
